Women constitute approximately 46% of the civilian labor force in the United States, but only 26% of the labor force in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) occupations. As of 2014, still only about 25 out of 500 CEOs (5.2%) were women.
The lack of women in STEM means companies are missing out on potential business gains, as the effects of having women in the leadership ranks are simple and undeniable.
