Mark B. Newsome, Vice President, Human Resources, has worked for McKee Foods Corporation and Affiliates, America’s leading snack cake producer and manufacturer of Little Debbie® snacks, Sunbelt®, and Heartland® products, for 38 years.  He manages and has oversight, directly and indirectly, for over 140 human resource professionals, including: Talent Acquisition, Learning & Develoopment, Corporate Communications & Media Services, Total Rewards/Comp & Benefits, Wellness, Health & Safety, HRIS, Corporate HR services, Corporate Security, HR Managers and their teams, and the EEO functions for the corporation.  He has served for a short period of time as a supervisor in manufacturing; had oversight for our Custom subsidiary and helped manage the closing of operations there; has served in Human Resources as a HRBP, Manager, Sr. Manager, Director and now V.P. He also holds multiple certifications in the human resource field.

He was a graduate of William Jennings Bryan College with majors in English and Education, as well as a minor in Psychology.  Mark was awarded the prestigious Tennessee Human Resource Professional of the Year award.  Mark led the Executive Steering Committee and was the project sponsor for McKee Foods’ Workday implementation project.  He has also served in several professional organizations, including serving as a member of various advisory boards for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga College of Business, the SE TN Placement Consortium, Workday HCM Product Advisory Council, Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, Memorial Hospital and on the Board of Elders at his church.  He was recently named a Colson Fellow, following a year-long study.  Mark is a devoted husband and father of three children, and he and his wife, Beth, also have nine grandchildren.
